Individual Therapy

What To Expect

 

People seek out therapy for numerous reasons so the length of time needed in therapy is unique to the individual. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit. If so, we will set up an initial appointment to discuss what brings you into therapy, relevant history, and what you hope to accomplish in our work together. You will be required to fill out necessary paperwork before your initial appointment which will be done electronically. Some individuals are in need of brief therapy (a few months) while others need longer-term therapy. Usually, we will meet weekly for a 55-minute session and collaborate on what you hope to get from the therapy process.  

 

Therapeutic Philosophy

 

My therapeutic philosophy is compassionate and gentle, yet direct as well as flexible and collaborative. The foundation of my work is rooted in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Model as well as the therapeutic relationship. The therapeutic relationship tends to mirror relationships outside the therapy room and it can be a safe place to practice new ways of being in a relationship.
